Mississippi Valley Conservancy’s mission is to conserve native and working landscapes. We protect rare plant communities, threatened wildlife species, scenic beauty, and opportunities for carrying out sustainable agriculture. We provide opportunities for people to get outdoors, connect with nature, and develop healthy habits of good exercise.
Over the years, we’ve protected many of the best features of the southwestern Wisconsin landscape, including scenic bluffs, the last remaining piece of native prairie on the La Crosse Terrace, top-notch coldwater trout streams, and various archeological resources.
We have created the following nature preserves for the benefit of people and wildlife:
Buffalo County
Crawford County
Grant County
Jackson County
La Crosse County
Trempealeau County
Vernon County
