MVC National TV Debut

On February 18, 2007, Mississippi Valley Conservancy’s logo and MVC employees made a brief appearance in the nationally-televised documentary program Raptor Force, an episode of the series Nature on PBS.

Although it was only a small glimpse, Advancement Director, James Falvey can be seen wearing an MVC cap while watching peregrine falcon chick banding with his son on Mississippi River bluffland owned by MVC Conservation Director George Howe’s family.  Executive Director Tim Jacobson can be seen twice filming the falcon banding for MVC’s own video, MVC Explores the Peregrine Falcon (www.mississippivalleyconservancy.org/videos.html).  George Howe’s two children also appear in the TV program, and George’s voice can be heard in the background.

Raptor Force was filmed by southwestern Wisconsin cinematographer Neil Rettig, who recently won an Emmy for the documentary Tales of the Last River Rat.  Mr. Rettig spoke at an MVC annual banquet a few years ago.
