Prairie restoration volunteers

Discover the beauty of autumn on the prairie!

We're seeking volunteers to help collect seeds and clear brush at New Amsterdam Grasslands this Saturday. Snacks will be provided and a short nature walk will be offered later in the afternoon.

These activities at New Amsterdam Grasslands (near Holmen) ensure nesting habitat for several of Wisconsin's threatened grassland bird species. It's a fun and easy way to get outdoors and make a difference in the world.

We'll also show you what's in the Naturehood Connections box at the nature preserve, so you can also take friends and family to help out whenever it works for you.

What to wear: long pants, long sleeves, work gloves, closed-toed shoes or boots

What to bring: water, binoculars (optional)

With questions, contact restoration coordinator Siena Muehlfeld.
