Invasive Brush Removal - Trempealeau Lakes Nature Preserve, Trempealeau Co.
Planning some ice fishing this week? First come help the Conservancy Land Management team out at Trempealeau Lakes on Saturday, December 19th. We'll be continuing our invasive removal project at this site, which is perfect to explore after the lakes and wetlands have frozen over. Bring a thermos because we'll be sipping on coffee and hot chocolate! By removing this invasive brush, we will give these young trees a fighting chance to survive!
All ages and skill levels are welcome – dress appropriately for the weather, bring a water bottle and sturdy footwear and clothing to protect from brush. Events may involve full body movement on uneven ground and sometimes steep slopes. Expert instruction, protective gear, tools, and snacks will be provided. Together, we can make a big difference in a short amount of time!

Detailed directions will be emailed prior to event. From La Crosse: Follow WI-35 N to Trempealeau. Take a left on to Fremont St (this is an unmarked street, same road that takes you to the lock & dam) (Mileage Gas Station is on corner) and follow to Lake Road. Turn left on Pickerel Path and follow to the end. The canoe/kayak launch and trailhead begins at end of path.
