Volunteer For the Wild

The task of managing and restoring thousands of acres of land is huge, but many hands help to lighten the load. Volunteering For the Wild is also a great way to get outdoors and meet other people who care about the land.

For the Wild volunteers help with important habitat restoration work, communications, events, and general office tasks; and they provide guidance serving on our board of directors. With their help we accomplish land protection that otherwise would not happen and they leave a lasting legacy for people today and for future generations.

Volunteers who contribute 10 or more hours of their time receive a free one-year membership to Mississippi Valley Conservancy.

To sign up, just fill out the form below. There is no obligation for signing up. It's just our way of knowing who's interested in helping so we can notify those people of volunteer opportunities. We'd love to tailor a custom volunteer program or event for your business, club, or organization, too. If you have questions, contact Nancy Larson to learn more about how you can get involved. Call 608 784-3606, ext 1 or email.

Naturehood Connections

We also have a more family-friendly volunteer program that allows anyone to access tools and activities 24/7 on select nature preserves. This summer, the focus of the program will be the Savanna Oaks nature preserve in Onalaska where we'll also be having volunteer work parties EVERY Friday from 9:30-Noon. Members our our summer intern crew will be there to introduce volunteers to the Naturehood Connections toolbox, answer questions, and help out. Get details and sign up at Naturehood Connections.
