Who is the Challenge Academy?

The Wisconsin Challenge Academy is an alternative education program designed to reclaim the lives of at-risk youth and produce graduates with the values, skills, education and self-discipline necessary to succeed as adults. The program is run out of Ft. McCoy and typically houses 1-4 squads of at risk youth.  Each squad consists of about 30 students. The students voluntarily enter the program to stay out of trouble and get their lives back on track.  They love to get off base and do community service projects such as working with Mississippi Valley Conservancy on habitat restoration projects.
